Tonight I Like Trains frontman Dave Martin seems uncomfortable talking to the audience but does mention that this night has a bit of a “weird Monday feeling” to it, which I think both the audience and band are feeling.
Nonetheless, they encapture the small audience with a set including numerous tracks from new album, The Shallows.
You can’t help but be pulled in by the electric atmosphere produced, there is alot of musical talent on that stage and it all blends perfectly into one to create a great show.
I Like Trains have a fascinating style that includes the songs subject matters, a lot of them are about real people and the songs replicate the turmoil in these characters lives.
Their songs generally start out dark and melancholy to build to a dramatic crescendo and their set up and musical ability just screams for a bigger stage and from tonight’s note perfect performace, they deserve to be heading for bigger things.
