Fresh from a headline slot in the ABC (supported by hotly tipped electro-poppers Prides), Wishaw rockers Vigo Thieves return with an ambitious new single ‘This Love’, which channels Born in the USA-era Bruce Springsteen in its quest for a stadium sized chorus.
Like The Killers ‘When You Were Young’, a synth riff as wide as an American highway ushers in Stevie Jukes’ best Bono impression as he croons: “can you feel it? / this love, I got nothing else”.
With glossy production that pushes vocals and synths to the front; it’s unabashedly a pop song that splits the difference between Franz Ferdinand’s ‘Take Me Out’ and Texas’s pop rock.
Heading out across the UK this April, Vigo Thieves are taking their heart-on-sleeve anthems to the people, and it’s looking like the people will love them back.
