The Twilight Sad, Honeyblood, Jeff Mills and SOPHIE Complete the Line Up for The Last Big Weekend

The East End Social and Chemikal Underground have announced the final line-up for The Last Big Weekend, and the final additions are ear-pummelling Kilsyth alt-rockers The Twilight Sad and Glasgow grunge-pop duo Honeyblood for the Saturday and one of the biggest names in US techno Jeff Mills and the enigmatic London based SOPHIE on Sunday.

The event, which takes place in Glasgow’s Richmond Park on Saturday August 30 and Sunday August 31, is part of the official Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme and Homecoming Scotland 2014.

Saturday’s musical thrills include post-rock leviathans Mogwai, electronic diviners Fuck Buttons, electro-visionary James Holden, indie luminaries The Wedding Present, hip-hop insurgents (and recent Scottish Album of the Year Award winners) Young Fathers, shoe-gaze arsonists Swervedriver and sludge-rock behemoths Holy Mountain.

Meanwhile, Sunday’s sonic treats include electro-prodigy Hudson Mohawke, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, DJ and dance-floor instigator Jackmaster, Numbers livewire Spencer, Warp Records’ Nozinja (Shangaan Electro), industrial-disco reprobates Golden Teacher and of course Glasgow party godfathers Optimo (Espacio).

Day tickets: £38.50 (plus booking fee) / Weekend tickets: £70 (plus booking fee).
