A word of warning: do not be fooled by the misleading title of the new Quiet As A Mouse single ‘Christina It’s Christmas Time’, it does not, by any means, present itself as an archetypal Christmas song and does not include heartwarming jingles of bells and talk of cheer and celebration.
Instead, the band aim for a more hard-hitting song about the festive period and rather than singing of “mistletoe and wine” they include lines such as “a bullet to the brain, again” and “I’d rather fuck it up than stay the same”.
With its deep lyrical content and gritty musical accompaniment, this track is definitely more suited to those who prefer to include a healthy mix of darkness and despair within the sea of joy and glamour surrounding Christmas.
