‘Breakaway’ combines a recipe of heavy 80s dance/electronic based sounds alongside repetitive lyrics presented primarily by strong and haunting female vocals and commences with a gentle, but memorable riff.
Proving The Insomniac Project’s ability to manifest their influences into a well structured and interesting track, ‘Breakaway’ alters between various instruments, each taking turn to display all member’s playing ability and also flow well together to reach a heightened chorus and end to the track.
“I can’t break away from you” is repeated throughout the chorus with eccentric vocals and is an aspect of the track that will revolve around the head for hours.
